Steroid Profile (Thyrocare), often known as Steroids, is a newborn screening test. Urinary steroid profiling gives you a complete view of how your adrenals are working. Under normal circumstances, oestrogen and aldosterone metabolites are not identified. The metabolism of steroid hormones in infants differs dramatically from that of children and adults. This is because an urine steroid profile in a newborn eliminates issues in interpreting results from other approaches, which may be hampered by the presence of atypical steroids at this age.
