Microalbuminuria is defined as the excretion of 30–300 mg albumin per 24 hours (or 20–200 mcg/min or 30–300 mcg/mg creatinine) in two out of three urine samples. Low levels of albumin excretion (microalbuminuria) are associated with diagnosis of diabetic kidney disease in its early stages.
